The opportunity

EY Catalyst is a product development organisation within EY, developing software applications for use in our Manufacturing and Supply Chain clients. The Product Owner: SaaS is the custodian of one of the Catalyst Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. They are responsible for overseeing the development of the product in close collaboration with the service lines and other Catalyst team members.

Your key responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Follow Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes to develop and enhance products in line with the product roadmap, budget and strategic imperatives.
  • Take ownership of roadmaps under your control, ensure they are always up-to-date, accurate and communicable; ensure alignment with other Catalyst product offerings
  • Manage product budgets
  • Develop and manage product backlogs
  • Be accountable for on-time in-full delivery of product functionality
  • Balance the product’s ideal future state with a pragmatic approach for development 
  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit product inputs and feedback; feed these into PLM processes. 
  • Provide pre-sales support.
  • Assist in the development of product marketing material
  • Deliver client facing product demos
  • Provide technical support in pre-sales activities 
  • Provide product training to Client Success
  • Assist in the creation and management of end user documentation
  • Support in the development of product training material
  • Provide post-sales support.
  • Provide support to our Client Success team for issue resolution and troubleshooting

Analytical/decision making responsibilities: 

  • Manage projects to budget and approve relevant expenditure. 
  • Make product choices with significant financial and customer satisfaction impacts.

Supervision responsibilities:

  • Line Management responsibly for less senior Product Owners as/when required.

Skills and attributes for success

Knowledge and skills requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong technical skills in conceptualising, developing, troubleshooting, documenting, and implementing software applications in a corporate environment. 
  • Apply creative solutions to challenging problems and ensure business needs are met effectively.
  • Balance, prioritise and organise multiple projects, responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively in teams across organisations and at all levels of seniority.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Experience working in a large global organisation and/or in a highly regulated industry highly advantageous.
  • Business-to-business product development experience is critical. 
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams over multiple time zones.
  • Proactive, disciplined and self-managed to be successful in a predominantly remote team.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ working experience in a product development team.
