Lead Enterprise Data Specialist (Asset Management, Data Quality, RDBMS)

What is the Lead Enterprise Data Specialist group responsible for?

  • Responsible for establishing standards, guidelines, and processes used to maintain common, firm-wide data standards to protect FTI’s critical information assets. Develops, maintains, and implements strategies that increase the consistency/confidence of data used for decision making, improving knowledge firm wide.
  • Governs related activities primarily within one discipline and is a recognized expert. Develops, communicates, and implements initiatives to mature data governance/data management activities. Scope: Builds and sustains relationships and lines of communication with key business and technology subject matter experts to drive efforts to measurable, successful conclusions.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Lead Enterprise Data Specialist?

  • (10%) Governance and Stewardship: Drives the development of data governance policies, procedures, and best practices required to support area of specialization. Performs impact analysis of regulatory, business, and system changes to data governance and data management programs and initiatives, data domains and relevant data governance policies and procedures.
  • (10%) Reporting and Analysis: Oversees execution of process improvements, revisions to documentation, training and/or communication materials to support area of specialization. Responsible for the creation of enterprise and LOB level KPI's and metrics related to area of specialization.
  • (25%) Training and Support: Drives the development of business-oriented training materials for data owners, Business Stewards, and key constituents. Ensures materials available to business and technology colleagues are current and leads execution of any changes. Provides training on area of specialization to various audiences. Consults with TOC and BUPOC project teams as a subject matter expert.
  • (55%) Data Management Specialization: Serves as expert in area of specialization to business and technology colleagues. Has strong industry awareness of best practices within specialty and conducts research on trends and methods to mature specialty. Plans and executes programs and initiatives to mature area of specialization across the enterprise. Leads and/or supports communities related to area of specialization and/or data and analytics.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Typically has 8-12 years related experience.
  • Champion enterprise adoption of data quality framework by maturing adoption, measuring & improving data health
  • Sound knowledge on RDMS systems like Oracle, MS SQL & Snowflake.
  • Ensure critical datasets are trusted and onboarded to DQM framework 
  • Support data programs related to migrations, analytics, regulatory reporting with analysis, sourcing & availability
  • Define and negotiate appropriate data validation controls & drive iterative data remediation efforts between data producers and consumers 
  • Build reliable and scalable data quality solutions
  • Design KPIs & monitor data quality within enterprise repositories to identify trends; generate reports and dashboards with actionable insights
  • Develop communication and reference materials that facilitate education and adoption of DQM framework
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline or field. Leads others to solve complex problems where significant initiative and independent judgment is required. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects.

Desired Skills (Not Mandatory):

  • Good to have experience on Python development with exposure to Pandas.
  • Experience working on AWS (Lambda/ECS/Event bridge) PaaS environments.
