About the Role:

Sound Physicians’ Accounting team has an exciting opportunity with the potential to drive meaningful impacts to the team and organization.

The ideal candidate for the Regional Accounting Manager role is highly motivated and looking to join a dynamic company within the health care industry. An accounting background and polished people skills for interaction with all levels of an organization is key to success in this position. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an individual who has managed a small team successfully and is energized to be involved in accounting with an operations focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end process for assigned region or multiple regions.
  • Organize transaction-level data, analyze the information, and record accruals.
  • Assist with payroll analysis, accruals, and tie-outs.
  • Read, understand, and apply detailed contract language related to invoicing, revenue recognition, and related expenses.
  • Manage customer AR, including but not limited to, invoice approval, reconciliation of accruals, partner with operators on aged balances, and providing updates to executives on AR issues.
  • Review and post journal entries
  • Review, and approve general ledger reconciliations with substantiation – monthly/quarterly/annually.
  • Analysis interpretation of monthly variances compared to budget, trend against historical periods, and current period operational understanding.
  • Support regional internal and external teams
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Education:

Minimum: BA/BS degree in Accounting, CPA, or CMA certification a plus.

Experience:

Minimum: 5 years of firsthand accounting experience in a private or public company. SOX experience a plus. Previous experience as part of a cross-department leadership team.

Other details: 

  • Occasional work requirements on weekends or beyond normal daytime work hours associated with month-end closings (once monthly)
  • Sitting at desk working on computer for extended periods of time
  • Working on computer for up to eight hours (with breaks)

Pay Range: $ 95,000-$125,000. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
