What is the opportunity? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our team, within the Managed Funds Administration business of SS&C, responsible for our investment management and fund administration front ends, used primarily by investors and financial advisers. 

This is a key role in enabling the successful execution of our strategy to become an industry-leading Fund Administration service in Thailand. 

You will help establish the technical direction of quality engineering within the business by championing and demonstrating modern testing principles and practices, promoting a quality first mindset and building and improving automated testing processes and tools within and outside the team. 

Key accountabilities 

  • Contribute to delivering key strategic product and technology roadmap initiatives. 
  • Create high quality and scalable software and influence others to do the same. 
  • Design and execute the implementation of a Digital Testing Strategy 
  • Contribute to developing and improving team’s - quality- engineering standards and frameworks and proactively share knowledge 
  • Pioneer innovative approaches to further improve the quality of our software products 
  • Deeply care about Customer problems and technical excellence 
  • Proactively participates in team’s Discovery and Refinement activities 
  • Effectively identifies opportunities to remove waste and automate manual processes. 

Role responsibilities 

  • Quality Engineering 
  • Actively contribute to automated testing - from unit to integration to user-interface testing - in order to improve our automated testing tools, frameworks and test coverage. 
  • Identify areas where automated testing is too expensive and come up with test strategy to address any potential gaps through means of other testing techniques 
  • Contribute to user stories and design of features in order to improve quality of our products 
  • Collaboratively work on ensuring software fails-fast, from code analysis to builds etc. 
  • Champion quality - share your knowledge, mentor and coach others in analysis, testing and quality practices to building quality in 
  • Delivery 
  • Familiar with Agile / Lean ways of working, and how to deliver value to customers faster and more efficiently.

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Experience working within the financial services industry or equivalent complex domains.
  • Experience testing Web Based Applications, Web services, XML, GUI, Reports and databases utilising a wide range of test tools
  • Experience and/or accreditation in technologies including.
  • Platforms : Windows, Solaris
  • Application Server : Apache TomEE
  • Reporting : Crystal Reports
  • Database : Oracle, SQL server
  • Other : Web Services, XML, Git/Subversion Repositories
  • Experience in working individually and in team environments
  • Proven expertise in problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in working to tight deadlines and delivering to agreed timetables
  • Have a fundamental understanding of test techniques as well as exposure to automation testing and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to ensure clear definition of test plans, test cases and defects for all stakeholders such as developers, support and clients
  • Solid understanding of the full SDLC (Problem to Solution) 
  • Experience in utilizing Continuous Delivery concepts to deliver software into Production environments. 
  • Proven experience defining Testing Strategy for engineering teams

Education and qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent industry experience as a Senior QA Automation / Test Engineer) 
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in similar role(s)
