Job Description

Summary

The Sales Manager for Weddings & Social Events is pivotal in driving business growth through meticulous client relationship management, comprehensive market analysis, and strategic event execution. This role involves tailoring proposals, ensuring compliance with hotel policies, and optimizing revenue streams while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

Operational:

  • Cultivate client relationships and conduct thorough hotel inspections to identify growth opportunities.
  • Handle inquiries professionally and conduct competitor research to maintain product knowledge.
  • Customize proposals to meet client needs and ensure adherence to hotel policies.
  • Execute events with creativity and sophistication to leave a positive impression.
  • Utilize up-selling techniques, input orders accurately, and achieve personal sales targets.
  • Coordinate with sales executives to ensure smooth handling of in-house groups.
  • Implement credit and collection procedures and ensure contracts follow hotel policies.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems and provide accurate sales reports to management.

Marketing:

  • Identify market trends and provide feedback for sales and marketing promotional activities.

Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales agreements, contracts, and quotations.
  • Ensure timely issuance of sales contracts and maintain an up-to-date database of accounts.
  • Submit weekly sales activities and entertainment schedules to management.

General:

  • Adhere to hotel policies and regulations concerning safety and hygiene.
  • Maintain professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
  • Attend meetings as required and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adapt to changes in job function and undertake assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Experience/Certificates/Education

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar commercial role preferably in a large, fast paced luxury hospitality setting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is essential – an additional language e.g. Russian, Arabic and French would be an advantage.
  • Must be a highly capable user of Microsoft office programmes including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Previous working experience in a truly global work environment is essential.
