Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Architect II/Job Captain at our Los Angeles office. This role supports Architects, Project Managers and Designers in preparing design and construction drawings, as well as assisting in construction administration for projects. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and a minimum of 2-4 year’s architectural experience producing detailed and well documented construction documents in Revit.

Education: Bachelor's in Architecture required. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development
  • Prepares project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment
  • Prepares various documents during the course of project development including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc
  • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings
  • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor
  • Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation
  • Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review
  • May be required to attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence
  • Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentations or documents
  • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in institutional projects (Healthcare preferred)
  • Must be engaged in AXP and be actively pursuing licensure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Task oriented time management
  • Technical capacity to research and apply building codes
  • Revit Architecture 2018-2022 (3-years of project experience min)
  • Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models or other documents accordingly
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Problem Solving/Analysis

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities

Annual Base Salary Range: $95,000-105,000 depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate(s). The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on the success candidate's individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and consideration to participate in our discretionary annual bonus incentive program.
