This individual will provide assistance to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) functions in support of the Base Operations Support Contract. The position is responsible for supporting project or operations/maintenance planning and scheduling activities including preventative maintenance, work orders, start up and operations. Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on operational performance. Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development.

Summary

In addition to meeting the necessary qualifications the selected candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment. This position will be based in Japan, primarily at a customer location aboard MCAS Iwakuni in support of a Base Operations & Support contract with the Department of Defense (DoD)/Navy- Marine Corps. The Maintenance Planner Scheduler (MPS) coordinates with our O&M management team in developing the scheduled maintenance activities and processes; pre-evaluates the need for replacement parts and places orders; and anticipates interruptions in plan and develops backup plans to minimize the impact on the facility’s overall functionality or production schedule.

Performance Location: The individual filling this position will be supporting Amentum on a contract for the US Department of Defense and working at the Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan.

Working Environment: Non-SOFA assignment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collects and updates data for scheduling reports.
  • Supports basic schedule development.
  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
  • Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
  • Understands basic concepts and principles of scope control and change management.
  • Supports monthly report preparation.
  • May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.
  • Exposure to basic scheduling concepts and principles.
  • Plans, organizes, prioritizes, and performs multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly, efficient manner.
  • Works professionally in a team environment and independently as necessary.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Minimum two years’ experience using the electronic asset management software Maximo
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an administrative environment is required. Must be detail oriented. 
  • Minimum two years’ experience planning and scheduling facility maintenance work.
  • Excel skills required, must know how to use Vlookups and Pivot Tables. Familiarity with Power Query is a plus 
  • Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years work experience in administration, logistics, or operations.

Expected Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze data, and generate meaningful reports.
  • Maximo system experience is highly desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.

Language:

  • English language is required with a preference towards bilingual ability in Japanese
