Summer-Fall Co-op Audio Systems Engineer

Are you passionate about audio, MATLAB coding, and want to experience being part of the team that develops the next generation of speaker products? Our team is responsible for executing the development of final audio experiences for all of our out loud consumer products. As a co-op you’ll be directly working with the team that is at the center of where all the essential audio ingredients come together, including acoustics, signal processing, and system optimization tuning. We are culturally an experience-driven group, we love sharing demonstrations of our improvements as well as new ideas and have a strong internal network of experts that you can collaborate with and learn from. Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop new acoustic measurement methodologies.
  • Create MATLAB tools to automate acoustic measurement data collection.
  • Integrate acoustic measurements into our system analysis tool.
  • Develop a method for using custom signal processing in our system level tools.
  • Develop new features for acoustic design tools.

Required Skills

  • Highly proficient in the use of MATLAB with function development experience.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and working collaboratively with other engineers.
  • Develop software tools for general engineer usage.
  • Experience with measurement lab skills and learning new methods efficiently.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure data collection integrity.

Additional Skills

  • Strong passion and drive to succeed.
  • Basic understanding of acoustic transducers and audio/EE fundamentals.
  • Understanding and experience with applied DSP theory.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree preferably with an emphasis on Audio/Acoustic Engineering or DSP.
  • Audio engineering experience (coding, recording, live sound) preferred.
