Manager, Predictive Analytics - US Marketing and Trade Effectiveness

Beam Suntory’s US business is investing in talent and capabilities to enable its analytics organization to deliver world-class impact to the business. We are looking for a Marketing Mix Modeling / Trade Effectiveness leader to help guide the US marketing and sales organization to optimize spending and mix to move BSI forward on our analytics journey. In this role you will support the Senior Manager of Forecasting & Predictive Analytics by owning, developing and implementing BI effectiveness and other predictive analytics solutions with the US business. You will work with our brand leaders and US sales teams to identify and size their growth ambitions for our current portfolio and enable them to optimize their brand investment plans and sales activities to meet those ambitions. You will work cross-functionally and with leadership to guide the optimization of advertising and promotional spending within the US market. You will also partner with finance, supply chain and demand planning to incorporate commercial investment insights into our distributor depletion and shipment forecasts. And finally, you will have the opportunity to broadly shape how Beam Suntory uses predictive analytics to meet our growth and share objectives. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage vendors across multiple domains, including marketing mix, BI effectiveness, and other predictive analytics work 
  • Support internal use of MMM and other tools through scenario modeling; additionally, own the development and maintenance through data collection, stakeholder meetings, & peer-review 
  • Work to define requirements and capabilities for new analytics capabilities, whether insourced or outsourced (built or bought) 
  • Provide support within Beam Suntory for ongoing predictive analytics support for cross-functional research & development projects such as innovation forecasting, competitive analysis, category forecasting, 

Qualifications

  • Experience with Marketing Mix modeling (including data collection, model building, reporting and change management) 
  • 2+ years of experience hands-on analytical modeling, such predictive modeling, forecasting, business drivers analysis, and innovation forecasting 
  • Commercial experience in the following industries: Spirits, Beer, Wine, Beverage, or other CPG/FMCG 
  • Proficiency in R or Python, with aptitude to learn additional programming languages as needed. 
  • Superior analytical skills with proficiency in a broad range of data analysis, data warehousing and modeling tools. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with syndicated data (such as Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, NABCA), internal data (such as SAP) and external data (ie. GDP, Housing Starts, etc.). 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or related discipline. Master’s preferred but not required. 
  • Strong team player, excellent communication skills, and ability positively interact cross-functional team. 
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities.
