Senior Finance Manager, Subscription Business

Our client, a Family Services provider, is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join their Strategic Finance team and manage their subscription revenue business across the US and internationally. 

LOCATION: Remote. This person will partner with folks in CST and EST as well as a business partner in the UK (VP Intl) so needs to be okay working these hours at times.

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Our client is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead the strategic finance support for the company’s service subscription business in the US and international. You will be a key partner to the company’s leadership team and play a crucial role in leading core FP&A forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial analysis to help drive resource allocation and decision-making. You will partner closely with the senior leaders across business areas, including product, marketing, and engineering leadership, focused on high-priority business issues. 

This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance and the VP of Strategic Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and build deep business partner relationships to drive successful outcomes and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Lead the annual planning and long-range planning processes for the company’s subscription services business
  • Interface with leaders to develop monthly forecasts, understand variances, and ensure spending in accordance with budgets
  • Support leadership and business partners with strategic financial modeling and frameworks to improve decision-making 
  • Partner closely with broader finance and accounting, including month-end close, preparation of financial and investor reporting, and Board communications
  • Drive forecasting and budgeting process improvements that result in increased forecast accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiencies
  • Develop new processes and tools, and improve existing ones to drive rapid, scalable analytics and insights to the business
  • Mentor junior staff to become strategic business partners

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 8 years experience with at least 5 years experience in Strategic Finance / FP&A at a high-growth technology company; prior investment banking experience, private equity or management consulting highly preferred 
  • 3 years of people management experience
  • B2C subscription or B2B SaaS business models experience highly preferred 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to clearly articulate ideas, and drive cross-functional understanding and cooperation across the business
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex business problems, leading to recommendations and action plans
  • Extremely proactive, approaches problems in a structured manner, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborative by nature - history of working well with different personalities
  • Comfort and familiarity with a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 
  • Ability to step up during ambiguous times and ready to take on new challenges while driving continuous improvement across finance
  • Great communication skills and experience partnering across different functions and various levels in a company
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills required 
  • Experience with SQL, Netsuite, Adaptive, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) is a plus. (must have a desire to learn)
