The Eisen Lab at the University of California Berkeley and collaborators are initiating a long-term, large-scale field research project to study and understand the best ways to transform land currently used in animal agriculture back into native forests and grasslands for the purpose of climate change mitigation and habitat restoration. We are seeking to hire postdoctoral associates with a curiosity in developing methods to analyze data associated with the project. This can include, but is not limited to:
This is a new research direction for a lab that has worked for 20+ years at the intersection of experimental and computational biology. Previous work in the lab has focused on the integration of genomics, imaging, genome engineering and extensive computational modeling to study problems in developmental biology, animal behavior and ecology.
Work on this project will emphasize and innovate open science principles at every level, including data and code release and communication of results.

Compensation Range
$70,000.00 (minimum) - $80,500.00 (midpoint) - $91,000.00 (maximum)
Pay Type:
Annual
HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
