To further bolster our expanding research endeavors, Boys Town is introducing the position of Lead Neuroimaging Software Developer to our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the research team to enhance software performance within our High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to chart a path toward success.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Develops and maintains software tools and pipelines for processing and analyzing neuroimaging data from various modalities such as MEG, MRI, fMRI, PET, and OPM.

Collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and other developers to identify and implement optimal approaches for neuroimaging data processing and analysis.

Leverages existing neuroimaging software packages and libraries such as Matlab, SPM, FSL, FreeSurfer, AFNI, Brainstorm, BESA, or MNE in the development of custom tools and pipelines.

Optimizes software tools and pipelines for high-performance computing using parallel processing, GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL), and distributed computing frameworks.

Applies data analysis techniques, including signal processing, time-series analysis, and statistical modeling, to process and interpret neuroimaging data.

Utilizes machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) to develop advanced analysis and prediction models for neuroimaging data.

Employs best practices in software development, such as version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, to ensure the development of reliable and maintainable software.

Stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in neuroimaging, data analysis, and software development technologies, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our tools and pipelines.

Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, researchers, and clinicians to address specific requirements and challenges in the project's research area.

Assesses personal workload and adjusts priorities to help others. Oversees daily activities of the Software Development staff.

Runs monthly team meetings.

Manages and assigns special projects to individuals or groups on the Software Development team.

Conducts assessments, provides learning recommendations and facilitates training.

Assesses the performance of staff and offers guidance when needed.

Participates in the performance-based evaluation process by providing feedback to management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in neuroimaging, such as MATLAB, Python, R, and C/C++.

Strong foundation in data analysis techniques, including signal processing, time-series analysis, and statistical modeling.

Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and experience in applying machine learning techniques to neuroimaging data.

Knowledge of best practices in software development, such as version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with researchers, clinicians, and other developers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related field required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on neuroimaging data processing and analysis required.

Experience with widely used neuroimaging software packages and libraries, such as MATLAB, SPM, FSL, FreeSurfer, AFNI, Brainstorm, BESA, or MNE required.

Experience with high-performance computing, parallel processing, GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL), and distributed computing frameworks required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree preferred.

Familiarity with the specific research area, such as cognitive neuroscience, clinical applications, or neurodevelopment preferred.
