Senior Finance Analyst FP&A, Pricing and Costing: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family

As the Senior Analyst, Finance Pricing and Costing you will be responsible for supporting the Vans Americas Pricing and Costing processes and supporting a broad range of business partners to drive actionable reporting, improved access to data/analytics, and helping to drive well informed decisions in pursuit of sustainable, long term profitable growth. The role will interact regularly with all levels of personnel within Vans Americas organization as well as partners across VF.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Analyst of Pricing and Costing will report to Vans Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. The role will partner closely with the Regional Product & Merchandising organization and finance teams to develop the seasonal pricing architecture. You will build, analyze, and summarize the seasonal pricing model to provide an initial pricing structure for the Region. You will partner with the Senior Director of FP&A to develop a long-term sustainable pricing review/process and identify opportunities for margin improvement. Along with these responsibilities, you will perform ad-hoc financial modeling for special projects and establish cost-related standards and procedures. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and manage the costing and pricing timetable for the Americas Region.
  • Responsible for seasonal standard costs generation based on FOBs collected, VF exchange rates and overheads.
  • Partner and discuss with product department major differences between expected and actual fobs to prevent extra costs and generate commitment on negotiations. Work with Cost Accounting to help explain financial performance in the P&L vs. expectations.
  • Coordinate the generation of seasonal sales pricelist working with Product Dept. and Sales Dept.; evaluate and challenge decisions and assumptions holistically from financial, marketplace, consumer, and competitive perspectives
  • Attend Regional Sales meetings and join price discussions with VP Sales and Sales leadership team.
  • Attend GTM at relevant steps to support GM/VP Sales.
  • Oversees seasonal analysis for VP Sales (i.e. customer margins by season/order type).
  • Creates ad-hoc analysis models.
  • Works with Product Department and Sales Department on SMU process:
  • works as primary link between CMs, product department and SD;
  • makes simulations based on most updated info;
  • provides continuous follow up of the SMU process, from the receipt of SMU request till action plan is done;
  • real time monitoring of on-going projects;
  • production of weekly reports, stats at division/country/customer level.
  • Works with Sales force on special pricing/programs;
  • assistance to select the best performing special prices for single accounts and follow up until discount check is performed by customer service;
  • assists the SD for a strategic approach to special pricing.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience in the FP&A function at a multinational company, preferably in consumer-related or retail industries. Target industry experience does not need to be limited to apparel retailers. Can also include restaurants, retailers of specialty coffee, digital plays, etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative/analytical disciplines. An MBA is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Project management skills: efficient, organized and collaborative, able to keep track of multiple streams of work and accomplish work through others.
  • Excellent organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and proactively address challenges.
  • Team player with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as cross-functional team leadership, strategic planning, vendor management, design thinking.

Hiring Range:

$73,440.00 USD - $91,800.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
