Assistant Director of Communications and Events
Food Services
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies to aggressively increase meal plan utilization, voluntary meal plan participation, and flex, retail, catering, and concession sales. Charged with improving customers’ overall satisfaction with Dining Services and the program’s national reputation through concerted marketing and promotional efforts.
In collaboration with the dining contractor and other university Dining Services’ leaders, improves electronic marketing mediums (e.g., website, e-newsletters, and social media presence) and production of newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials to promote the program and improve customer engagement and satisfaction. Responsible for program promotion to internal and external stakeholders and marketing coordination with other university marketing and public relations resources.
Works closely with the dining contractor’s (currently Sodexo’s) marketing team to create attractive programs and initiatives, promote existing services, and evaluate program success.
Provides event planning and logistics support for high-profile events with the dining contractor.

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
