Our Commercial Lines Product Management team is currently seeking a Product Manager. The work arrangement for this position can be on location or fully remote. This is a full time, exempt role. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: Our Commercial Lines Product Management Organization is seeking a Specialty Product Manager who provides leadership, support, guidance, and expertise to facilitate the development, installation, and implementation of product development in our Excess & Surplus Casualty Lines. The Product Manager supports the strategic operations as well as the overall profitability, growth, and retention of their assigned product line by delivering industry leading, market competitive product offerings.

This role supports key strategic functions pertaining to the assigned line of business, including strategic product development and support, market research and analysis, product maintenance, delivery, and compliance. The Product Manager will work collaboratively with others on matters related to product, underwriting and compliance, including but not limited to: Business Unit leaders, Claims, Legal, Corporate Underwriting, Actuarial, IT and Compliance. 

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:   

  • Lead thedevelopment, design, and maintenance of Excess & Surplus Lines Casualty coverage forms and associated rules for non-admitted use.

Monitor, analyze, and ensure adherence to non-admitted operating rules as regulated by state surplus lines offices.Monitor market research and analyze the competitive landscape as able.Work collaboratively with Business Units and Corporate Underwriting to establish and support line strategies.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 3-5 years of Casualty insurance experience with working knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining non-admitted product forms and rules; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of business insurance products, contracts, forms, and coverage.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the non-admitted industry segment as regulated by state surplus lines offices.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, innovation skills, initiating skills, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and technical writing communication skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Advanced ability to comprehend and communicate intent of product strategies, underwriting strategies, and inter-relationships with different coverageparts.
  • Strong ability to influence strategic decisions that support corporate goals. 
  • Superior interpersonal skills which align with Hanover’s CARE values.
