Be the first point of contact for data privacy related enquiries for our subsidiaries located throughout Greater China providing them with appropriate advice and strategic guidance
Work independently and confidently trouble-shoot issues expeditiously and maturely with minimal guidance and supervision
Adopt carefully curated solutions that are commercial minded and with legal acumen
Support new business proposals, client questionnaires and requests for proposal
Review, amend and negotiate on data processing agreements and privacy provisions in service agreement or technology agreements
Modify, improvise and customize legal documents and data processing addendum templates for Greater China given the eccentricities unique to the Greater China jurisdictions
Support by giving strategic advice in the event of data breach or security incidents
Review new software requests by businesses in Greater China from a privacy perspective
Show interest and creative synergy in understanding the ever-evolving media ad tech industry and its impact on privacy (e.g. phasing out of third party cookies)
Ensure that you are up to speed and closely tracking fast-paced developments in privacy laws throughout Greater China
Conducting data privacy trainings on the law by providing commercial minded operational solutions and call-outs for Greater China subsidiaries
Take the initiative to circulate email updates on the law to business heads and agencies should there be a significant impact to the Groupe’s work
Work with other Publicis teams on global projects to review and improve existing data protection policies, practices, privacy programs and/or due diligence assessments
Conduct privacy impact assessments and privacy audits under the supervision of Publicis Groupe´s Chief Data Privacy Officer
Collaborate with other colleagues in the Global Data Privacy Office on projects/initiatives
Collaborate closely with the Greater China commercial legal team to support our agencies from a privacy perspective
Manage external counsel if and when hired for special projects or disputes
Qualifications
be a Chinese qualified advocate and solicitor
have a minimum of 5 years' PQE, with the majority of this time spent gaining expertise in relation to privacy matters
have solid knowledge of Greater China privacy laws and some working background of the European Union’s GDPR
have a privacy certification (such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US from IAPP or similar)
have a strong English capability and is able to use English as a working language
have initiative, resolve and a can-do attitude and function with minimal supervision, guidance
have the maturity to know when to escalate issues to the Groupe´s Chief Data Privacy Officer
have the confidence and zest to manage C-suites, management independently
be commercially-minded to know when business oriented solutions need to be forged bearing in mind legal risks
be an enthusiastic, energetic data protection and privacy subject matter learner who is open to continuing professional development
Additional Information
Ideally some background knowledge of the media tech industry or an interest to learn and dive into the media tech industry
Experience in policy development and training
Background in compliance, legal or quality assurance
