POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Category Senior Analyst is to support the category management lifecycle process for APAC and MENA regions. The Senior Analyst will analyze, interpret data and create information and insights to enable sourcing efforts and vendor analysis. The Senior Analyst will also serve as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for questions and issues relating to the buying processes for the agencies and will also be tasked with identifying opportunities to use analytics and employ best-in-class processes to support the Category Managers, including spend analysis and requirements gathering. The role will also focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, respective Senior Leadership within IPG, and Agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Will support the full category management lifecycle process for categories including gathering, analyzing, and reporting on key market intelligence, developing a long-term, multi-year category strategy and development and evaluation of “go to market” strategies for APAC and MENA regions with the Category Manager and local leaders.
  • Work alongside teams within the business or the management team to support the establishment of business needs; drive change; and coordinate supplier development strategies to facilitate positive outcomes for the organization.
  • Negotiate the best overall commercial arrangements with suppliers selected through fact-based methods.
  • Develop and implement data collection approaches, analysis processes, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Provide functional and category analytics, both routinely and on an ad-hoc basis as required.
  • Synthesize, summarize, and interpret information from multiple sources (historical, forecast, internal and external).
  • Establish data request templates and reporting capabilities for category management and business unit data needs.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and help to identify business needs through: interpreting spend, category planning, building market knowledge, influencing demand, deploying RFx, rigorous supplier selection and negotiations, contract development, supplier performance management, and assuring compliance with IPG policies.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, 3 years of experience in procurement
  • Regional & multi-departmental support/engagement for requirements gathering, training, and reporting
  • Solid financial and analytical skills, and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and influence skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills is highly desired.
  • Good interpersonal and organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Solid judgment with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with change and ambiguity effectively
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
