Senior Director, Corporate Strategy

The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy will play a pivotal role in the year-round process that shapes Equifax’s enterprise strategy and the Business Units’ (BUs) and Center of Excellence’s (COEs) business strategies. Under the supervision of the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be creating strategic recommendations for Equifax’s leadership team by (a) leading assessments on high priority growth opportunities, (b) creating comprehensive market and competitive assessments, and (c) partnering with the M&A team to understand the strategic fit of acquisition targets and partners. You will participate in driving a continuous dialogue across the organization by supporting and coordinating the annual Strategic Thinking & Planning process, in terms of content development (e.g., strategic thinking sessions) and presentations (e.g., CEO, Board of Directors meetings). You will work closely with the Business Units (Sales, Strategy, Marketing, Product Development, etc.) as well as with Enterprise functions (Finance, Corporate Development, Data & Analytics, Technology, etc.) 

This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and will be a hybrid workplace model offering the flexibility to work remotely as well as in our global corporate HQ building in Midtown! (This is not a fully-remote role)

What you’ll do:

  • Combine internal and external intel on macro, market, and competitive events and trends (e.g., emerging business models, new capabilities, traditional and non-traditional / emerging players, ongoing M&A activity), distill key insights, and articulate relevant opportunities or threats for our company 
  • Run strategy projects to assess new opportunities or identify solutions to potential threats (i.e., articulate and size the opportunity / solution, flesh out implications for EFX and potential competitive responses, lay out path for execution, prepare presentation material, socialize it with key stakeholders, and present to senior executives)
  • Assist BUs / COEs in planning and executing their strategic initiatives
  • Lead working sessions with cross-functional internal (top, middle management) and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities: facilitate the process, contribute with thought leadership, analyze and distill the outcome of the sessions, and create executive-level recommendations or feed them into the annual strategic planning process
  • Partner with M&A and BU teams to assess the strategic fit of potential acquisition targets and partners, and support them in shaping up the business case
  • Support annual Strategic Thinking & Planning process: identification and prioritization of opportunities, coordination of BUs and COEs and creation of an enterprise view, stress-testing of financial projections / forecasts, preparation of material for key meetings with CEO and Board of Directors
  • Act as liaison between Corporate Strategy and BUs / COEs to keep the latter ones appraised with the enterprise strategic direction and collect from them input on main trends, events, opportunities, issues, and decisions in their businesses


What experience you need:

  • MBA is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in strategy roles, of which 3+ in management consulting firms, with a proven track record of (a) leading strategy projects while working across multiple stakeholder groups and (b) defining and delivering a cross-enterprise strategy 
  • Experience in Financial Services and in leading strategic engagements for M&A are a preferred plus
  • Highly independent in thinking and framing problems, driven by intellectual curiosity
  • High degree of comfort on managing multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Executive presence and comfort with presenting to senior executives
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align and coordinate internal resources
  • Refined skills in developing and delivering compelling presentations
  • High energy, with strong will and ambition to learn and work on new things
