Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Crystal Springs, MS location. This role is responsible for the development and application of assembly and testing processes and utilization of PC control systems, database interfaces, high voltage equipment, and measurement devices to efficiently fabricate, produce, modify, or repair power transformers. This role also provides technical and process assistance for test floor and production systems as well as conducting economic studies and preparing specifications, proposals for contracts, licensing, and safety documents. This position is eligible for relocation assistance for candidates within the United States.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate all systems for transformers, ensuring reliability and availability
  • Conceptualize, plan and install testing systems including partial discharge measurement, impulse test, and AC test sets for testing power transformers
  • Customize and develop safety systems to enable safe and reliable use of high voltage test systems
  • Under limited direction, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of a Transformer winding, testing and assembly processes
  • Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques
  • Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction

Your background

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Experience with programming PLCs is preferred but not required
  • Experience using and implementing lean production system or tools to achieve operational efficiency and waste reduction a plus
  • Experience with analysis of transformer manufacturing defects a plus
