Job Description Summary:

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Director of E-Commerce is responsible for the development and optimization of See’s e-commerce channel, supporting sales and profit objectives, improving See’s presence and engagement over the web, and ensuring an optimal customer experience from arrival in the storefront through check out. This includes leading the day-to-day and managing the front-end, operating infrastructure and technology roadmap of the site. This role partners with Sales, Marketing, Creative, Merchandising and Operations departments to develop strategy and optimize customer attraction and satisfaction.

The pay range for this position is expected to be $180k-$190k annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for website and its content to support the sales and profit goals of the General Market (B2C), Corporate Gifting and Fundraising (B2B) customer segments. 

2. Manages the Sees.com website and content to achieve efficient and user-friendly functionality for placing orders to increase conversion and retain/increase the active customer base of this consumer channel. 

3. Supports sales and profitability objectives of the Direct-to-Consumer channel in close partnership with the sales and fulfillment teams.

4. Ensures assigned online category goals and objectives are strategically and tactically aligned to deliver a favorable See’s online experience, as well as deliver on See’s customer service expectations and financial budgets. 

5. Develops and recommends strategies and investments that result in greater sales, improved customer service and/or cost reductions in support of E-Commerce/Corporate Gifting/Fundraising.

6. Directly owns any Capital budgets related to website improvement and enhancements.

7. Manages a team of Salesforce Commerce Cloud and REACT developers that own the user experience. Monitors performance and drives for continuous improvements and enhanced functionality in an agile framework, to ensure that the overall brand strategy for the company is translated online. 

8. Manages a team of website merchants that own managing products and content to maximize the online shopping experience and drive sales. 

9. Partners with Merchandising, Marketing and Sales channel department heads to develop sales strategies for each holiday season; completes post-season analysis and performance review of website metrics. 

10. Collaborates with cross-functional partners including but not limited to Sales, Marketing and Operations to help manage the E-Commerce business focusing on business planning, content strategy and development, product launches, promotional campaigns, marketing, website design and customer service. 

11. Collaborates with IT development team on website front-end and back-end platforms and software solutions 

12. Partners with Merchandising on product and merchandise strategy and execution. 

13. Responsible for third-party contracts and integrations on Sees.com and other Commerce Cloud properties. 

14. Remains current with the latest E-Commerce trends and technology through customer insights and industry research to keep the site at the forefront and ahead of competition while focused on departmental KPI’s and ROI. 

15. Supports, protects and champions the See’s Brand at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Seven to ten years e-commerce experience with a multi-channel retailer, preferably with annual sales in excess of $500M.

2. Experience working with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Core/Lightning, Google Analytics, JIRA, Confluence, Order Management or Warehouse Management Systems.

3. Proven ability to increase sales and profit; demonstrated analytic, problem solving and decision-making skills. 

4. Proven strategic leadership skills, including ability to develop, retain and inspire a team.

5. Both strategic and tactical with the ability to both lead and direct but also “roll up his or her sleeves” and actually do the work. 

6. Experience in, and understanding of, effective online marketing communication strategies and tactics. 

7. Ability to analyze website metrics and produce reports; experience with analytical tools.

8. Knowledge of external website platforms and software packages. 

9. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, in addition to a full range of generous medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
