JOB SUMMARY:

Vir Biotechnology is seeking a Manager, HR Operations contractor. You will oversee and administer full employee life cycle programs from onboarding to offboarding. Also, you will provide HR generalist support and serve as a subject matter expert, managing inquiries from employees and managers relating to HR tasks, policies and programs. This person will report to the Associate Director, HR Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Manage and administer Onboarding, Offboarding, and other key programs of the HR Operations function. 
  • Accountable for maintaining real-time quality and accuracy of employee records, data, and inquiries throughout HRIS and other relevant operational systems (UKG, Freshdesk, Greenhouse, etc.).
  • Address and resolve operational issues to ensure HR operations remain on track. 
  • Manage HR Operations goals and objectives; Serve as a change agent and support a continuous improvement mindset by ensuring the use of process discipline and data-driven decisions. 
  • Identify new opportunities where HR Operations processes can be optimized to benefit the organization; Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to maintain efficient and effective services.
  • Ensure that all HR policies and programs are aligned with the regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction; Address any non-compliance matters in a timely and effective manner;
  • Track, and resolve, inquiries from employees and managers relating to HR policies and programs.
  • Understand and triage sensitive issues requiring additional escalation; Proactively engage other stakeholders to inform decisions when necessary; Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Work in a matrixed environment and across multiple partner groups to bring issues to resolution.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA, MA Preferred and 8-10 years related experience in Human Resources.
  • In depth knowledge of HR trends, best practices and regulatory issues; Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and explain HR policies, programs and processes.
  • Proficient in one or more HRIS; history of adapting to new HRIS technology.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Able to proactively identify and implement process improvements is a requirement of the role.
  • This is a hybrid role and you will work a few days each week from our HQ in San Francisco.

The expected salary range for this position is $56.00 to $82.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
