The Project Manager oversees a cross-functional team charged with delivery of the following: implementation plans, communication plans, business case analyses, program-level recommendations, workforce optimization, talent development, leadership development, coaching, and meeting facilitation support. The ideal candidate will have experience managing the project management lifecycle. The candidate must also have experience using project management tools and templates to track/monitor progress status, issues, and risks. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative and technical leadership for projects
  • Leading and directing the work of others and assumes primary responsibility for ensuring completion of all project deliverables on time and with the highest quality
  • Developing and maintaining project artifacts, including the Project Management Plan, schedule, status reports, meeting minutes and other project-related documents
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues
  • Creating or managing the creation of strategic plans, business case analyses, “as is” and “to be” assessments, implementation plans, and communication plans
  • Leading implementation of strategies, initiatives, and projects to support disaster-related program enhancements, workforce optimization, training and coaching
  • Providing project management support for executive-level meetings, including agendas, logistics, facilitation, and meeting minutes
  • Maintaining a central repository of all deliverables, meeting minutes, and other documents submitted to the customer
  • Acting as liaison, problem solver, and facilitator

MUST BE US CITIZEN AND HAVE or ABLE TO OBTAIN A DHS PUBLC TRUST CLEARANCE

Education:

  • BA/BS degree in related field required
  • PMP certification required

Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to run multiple projects efficiently and simultaneously
  • An experienced leader with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the software field
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum 10 years project management experience and at least five years in support of Government projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
