As a Global Product Group Quality Manager you will establish and maintain a practice of excellence in Quality in order to meet or exceed customer expectations through the development and improvement of the systems and tools required to deliver stable performance and sustainable improvements across the Product Group. You will define and implement medium and long term strategic actions to improve product/design quality and related product platforms in the entire value chain, and to improve customer satisfaction and reduce operating costs in a safe working environment. You will be part of our Business Unit Transformers Quality team and reporting to Business Unit Quality Manager and functionally to Global Product Group Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • You act as a Role Model for the behavior required to support a Quality Culture in line with the Business Unit Transformers & Hitachi Energy
  • You influence Senior Manager and Peers to ensure the correct thinking and decision making required to support the implementation and execution of Quality Strategies
  • You are accountable for creation and leading the Global Product Group Strategy in line with Hitachi Energy, Quality and Operations strategies
  • You contribute to the development, execution and implementation of the Business Unit Quality Improvement Plan
  • You lead a strong customer focus attitude in the respective area of responsibility and manage global customers
  • You support in establishing and development of QMS to prevent quality errors from happening
  • You are accountable for regular reviews, updates and improvements of Production Standards and related manufacturing documentation, including preparation of training materials and well as managing the platform contents in the document management system
  • You are responsible for organization and performing the quality/process audits/assessments and follow ups of closing of the actions
  • You are in charge of securing the quality of new product/process introduction (new product developments, covering DFMEA, production and quality standards, improvements of design platforms, standardization and modularization, etc.)
  • You support implementation of the Lean Six Sigma methodologies, competences and certification
  • You develop processes to analyze the design (CDS) data, production data (ECS/control cards) and final test data (DTRS) to drive process optimization

Your background

  • Master of Science/MBA equivalent and strong technical and manufacturing background
  • Understanding of the product and its related sales, design and manufacturing processes and technologies (Distribution & Traction Transformers, both oil and dry)
  • Experience in managing global structures with intercultural sensitiveness, strong networking, ability to guide and mentor others
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in international management environment
  • Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt required (or equivalent), Quality Management or auditor training (ISO or other international)
  • Fluent written and spoken English matched with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Flexibility, around 50% travel requirement
