Hitachi Energy is seeking a Product Manager supporting its Jefferson City, MO manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for looking after the whole sales funnel from a supply point of view from the activation of the related quotation (from a SFDC opportunity generated by the Demand)/ bid and proposal/tendering stage to price setting with the objective of speeding up the decision-making process and price decisions. This role is also instrumental for cross-factory bid and/or cross-hub tenders’ coordination. This is a home-based position, Midwest preferred

Your responsibilities

  • Strategy: Creates, plans, and ensures implementation of the local go-to–market product strategy including definition and communication of product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the global product marketing strategy. Owns pricing decisions. Implements global portfolio strategy into the region, primary influencer to future designs / investments for regional offerings. Bi-directional alignment with Global Product Group
  • Targets: Establishes product targets and budgets (go-to-market strategy), including establishing pricing. Ensures their achievement through regular oversight, and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed. Actively manages offerings – influencing R&D investment decisions and strategic operational plans.
  • Business Plans: Develops and implements annual marketing plan in conjunction with relevant Business Units/Product Groups. Prepares business plans focused on business development for a defined market.
  • Analysis: Coordinates market analyses with Product Marketing team and Sales team members and defines appropriate forecasts and plans. Evaluates and shares customer research, market conditions and competitor data. Partners with Engineering and Supply Chain teams on cost, complexity, and design strategy.
  • Sales: Oversees sales execution for assigned products by coordinating the preparation of relevant materials and guidance to Sales team(s).
  • Training: Drives sales efficiency by ensuring appropriate product knowledge (technical and sales) for each salesperson. Ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.

Your background

  • Engineering degree and 5+ years of experience in marketing & sales, manufacturing operations, product engineering, or related industry experience. Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Product Management skills & knowledge of energy sector products referred
  • Knowledge of market / customer’s needs
  • International experience and intercultural sensitivity
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Structured and analytical thinking
  • Networking, Leadership, superior communication & negotiation skills
