As the Senior Product Manager for the eCommerce Platform, you will own re-platforming the UI capabilities across our eCommerce website experiences. You will partner with cross-functional business and GapTech partners to support this critical technology transformation. You are responsible for defining the product strategy and roadmaps for the eCommerce Platform by working collaboratively with other product management counterparts, engineering partners and leaders to understand desired capabilities to positively impact the customer experience. And flawlessly execute to drive a measurable impact back to the business.

This role requires a strong product mindset; a combination of business savvy, customer centricity and technical knowledge. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the customer journey, while striving to understand the complexities of system integrations and operational impacts.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution of our Headless UI Platform migration for Gap Inc.’s eCommerce websites 
  • Support design system roadmap and adoption of component libraries leveraged across ecommerce product teams to drive consistency and scalability
  • Partner with engineering and UX to ensure we are building and maintaining standards of performance, accessibility, and documentation 
  • Write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog, and work closely with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software
  • Develop and manage project plans and key stakeholder engagement strategy on all initiatives
  • Build relationships with key business partners and other brand stakeholders; articulates product needs clearly and succinctly to different audiences and cross functional partners
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends and standards to introduce the continual process, tool and methodology improvements
  • Identify, measure, and interpret results to validate product strategy; provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and resolving strategic opportunities

  • Experience leading platform migration / modernization efforts. Familiarity with Next.js, React and TailwindCSS a plus.
  • Expertise in building a mature design system with proven track record of organizational adoption and impact
  • Experience working with large software engineering teams both within and outside of your domain
  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing platforms, APIs, and/or complex customer capabilities
  • Demonstrate technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
  • Sound knowledge of concepts and procedures specific to own subject area and a basic understanding of the procedures in other relevant areas
