Optus Finance utilises a range of systems including TM1 (Budgeting & forecasting), EDW (Data warehouse), SAP BW (Reporting) that support critical activities such as month/year end close, forecasting and reporting. We are looking for Finance Systems Developer who knowledge across all these systems, but with an emphasis on TM1. Strength with TM1 will be the primary skill set required with the candidate having minimum of 3 years’ experience as a well-rounded developer. 

Reporting to the Profitability & Systems Manager, the Finance System Developer will be working across multiple systems to achieve our leaderships vision of making Optus digital everywhere. Within this context, the Finance Systems Developer is accountable for creating an end-to-end vision and a logical design, automate processes, and digitalize finance forecasting and reporting requirements.

Ideally the successful applicant will have serval years working in a commercial environment and will have a good understanding of business and finance processes and concepts. The position requires someone that is technically strong and have attention to detail. We expect the candidate will take ownership and follow up on any issue that may occur and action any opportunity to improve the operation of Optus Finance.

Your core responsibilities -

• Design and Deliver applications in TM1 and other tools to improve speed and accuracy of forecasting and reporting.
• Assist in development of detailed & digitised reports to support faster month end process.
• Review the finance end to end forecast and reporting processes and provide solutions for improvements.
• Responsible for translating finance requirements into a high-level solution.
• Enabling access to data from the TM1, EDW and SAP to support deep dive analysis for finance.
• Planning and management of all process improvement initiatives.
• Partnering with commercial leads/analysts in gathering requirements, including new reporting and systems enhancements.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert, including troubleshooting issues, helping resolve reporting issues and to ensure timely resolution of exceptions.
• Demonstrate an ability to effectively work in a team environment involving a reasonable sized team of developers and delivery partner resources who are based across multiple locations and delivery.
• Work with Data Governance, DPM & Other Architects, and Business SMEs.

What makes you perfect for the role?

• Degree qualified with an Accounting or IT discipline.
• Significant business experience (5+ years) with the ability to understand finance and commercial concepts.
• Strong TM1 skills with 3+ years’ experience as a developer.
• Data warehouse (Preferably EDW) experience with the ability to write commercial grade SQL.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting, preferably on TM1 or related tools.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of management.
• Driven to produce outcome with excellent attention to detail.
• Take ownership and follow up mindset to problem solving and opportunities.
• Experience in BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI will be viewed favourably.
