Job Description

Public Storage is looking for a dynamic Vice President, Corporate HRBP that will drive our mission by partnering with leaders and department heads to help them align their teams under a common vision focused on talent development and employee engagement. This role will leverage strong business acumen, big-picture vision, and a hands-on approach to lead growth and change in the organization through engagement and service delivery. Reporting to the SVP Human Resources, this position will work closely with Public Storage’s key stakeholders to develop and deliver solutions to meet business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership and business units to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • HR Business Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business units and leaders.
  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, provide HR guidance and support, and drive initiatives that enhance organizational performance and effectiveness.
  • Employee Relations: Drive performance conversations and partner with the ER department on people issues
  • Identify HR priorities and initiatives to support the overall business strategy.
  • Serve as a credible partner with business leaders on key Talent initiatives for employees.
  • Lead the Talent Review process across the firm and guide leaders.
  • Manage the OKR goal setting process.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement organizational and talent initiatives with the Corporate HR Centers of Excellence. 
  • Collaborate in the implementation of the company's people strategy which includes all aspects of culture, engagement, DEI/ESG, HR communications, and employee experience.
  • Create and implement internal development programs that drive engagement, career growth, and retention.
  • Leverage people analytics to drive results, measure program adoption, effectiveness, and value for team members.
  • Lead Org Design and the Succession Planning process
  • Partners with HR colleagues and leaders to ensure consistency in the application of Talent programs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Human Resources role, preferably as an HR Business Partner or in a similar strategic HR role. Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience Talent Review, Performance Management, Career Pathing, and Engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and provide resolution quickly and efficiently 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze Talent issues and provide information/direction, effectively express ideas, and advice both verbally and in writing 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) 
  • Proficiency utilizing HR technology and systems - HRIS, LMS, etc.
  • Big picture thinker who anticipates future trends and creates competitive and creative talent strategies and plans that drive results and employee engagement.
  • Ability to understand business priorities quickly and thoroughly.
  • Interpret and use analytics and metrics to identify root cause and create actionable projects to help meet Talent goals.
  • A “roll up the sleeves” mentality and desire to resolve problems in a team environment.
  • Excellent consulting skills with the ability to build trust and influence senior stakeholders to get things accomplished within a matrixed organization.
  • Flexible and able to excel in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
  • This will be an “achiever” personality with a start-up mentality who strives to resolve issues and roadblocks and meets goals on time.
  • Communicates and works with people at all levels of management on a transparent and humble basis.
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt quickly and easily.

Additional Information

Compensation

  • Base: $160,000 - $210,000
  • In addition to a competitive salary, this role comes with exciting perks – leadership roles may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and/or equity participation.

Workplace

  • One of our values pillars is to work as OneTeam and we believe that there is no replacement for in-person collaboration but understand the value of some flexibility. Public Storage teammates are expected to work in the office five days each week with the option to take up to three flexible remote days per month.
  • Our office is located in west Glendale, near Interstate 5 and Western, just south of downtown Burbank.
