Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a 2nd Shift Machinist for our North Kingstown, RI location.

Description: 

The Machinist will perform all basic machining functions. Responsible for timely response and quality on work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment
  • Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units
  • Sets up, calibrates, and operates machining equipment including lathes, shapers, jig boxes, brakes, shears, grinders, spot welders, drill presses, milling machines (including CNC) and heavy-duty presses to assemble and/or fabricate parts and complex assemblies
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product
  • Estimates time and cost factors required for jobs
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Works under general supervision
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area

Qualifications: 

  • Team player: supports teammates and colleagues.
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • May be required to meet certain certifications in field and to have at least 2-4 years of experience
  • Lapping experience, a plus
