You as a Global Product Manager, will be part of Hitachi Energy Team, and reporting to the Global Product Group Switchgear manager. You will be instrumental in shaping our Dead Tank Breaker (DTB) and Plug and Switch System (PASS) business. This will involve closely monitoring market trends and customer needs by maintaining a close dialog with clients, sales teams, and other stakeholders. Your responsibilities

  • You define product strategy and segment positioning for DTB and PASS, analyze portfolio gaps and business opportunities, and decide on modifications or extensions to our product portfolio.
  • You implement Product Lifecycle Management, including product cost tracking to achieve market share, growth, and profitability targets
  • You analyze input from Sales and Marketing, key accounts, and other relevant data and publications, in addition to monitoring strengths and weaknesses of each product
  • You support the sales force to manage customer’s technical requests and participate in customer workshops and sales trainings
  • You provide input for competitor benchmarking and prepare/review summaries about competing products and pricing strategies in collaboration with the Global Product Marketing Manager
  • You participate in Research and Development project meetings and decide on variants and product extensions in cooperation with the Local Product Group team
  • You suggest Research and Development projects for new products, in addition to planning, detailing, and prioritizing proposals within specified budgets

Your background

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent understanding of relevant applications
  • Knowledge of international markets and relevant drivers for success
  • Well-developed leadership skills and the ability to communicate at all managerial levels
  • Strong cultural awareness together with a solid command of English
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 - 30%
