Job Description

The Role: 

As the Human Resources Administrator at Cognex you will be the face of Cognex to new hires starting at the application process guiding them all the way through their first few months with the company. You will be their go to person for questions related to their new hire onboarding and will play a large role in making their candidate and onboarding experience exceptional. The right candidate will have a customer first attitude, strong attention to detail and time management skills. We’re looking for a person who wants that first foot in the door into an HR organization where they can learn and grow within the team. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Organizing and preparing the new hire onboarding process including creating offer letters, manager communication, monitoring of pre-employment background checks and ensuring compliance of employee records 
  • Schedule and track interviews with candidates and hiring managers 
  • Enter all employee changes into Workday including new hires, contractors, and interns 
  • Delivering new hire orientation and ensuring each new hire has an exceptional onboarding experience 
  • Organize and facilitate our quarterly two-day new employee training program 
  • Assist with our college recruitment programs 
  • Support the Payroll and Benefits team with administration of company perks and tuition reimbursement programs. 
  • Manages our Learning Management System for the L&D Team including being the point person for system entry, incorporating new features, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Commitment to accuracy and detail are required 
  • Strong organization, prioritization and time-management skills are required 
  • Personable, customer focused and strong communication / presentation skills 

Minimum education and work experience required: 

  • BS/BA degree is strongly preferred ideally with a concentration in Human Resources or related field like Business, Communications, or Psychology 
  • 1 year of either work experience or internships within a Human Resources function is strongly preferred 
  • User-level knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience using Workday or similar HRIS is a strong plus
