SUMMARY
The Senior Vice President, Medical/ Health will be primarily responsible for a mix of business development, account management and broking, providing quality advice and service to clients on their reinsurance cession of life/ health business, partnering with the sales team to grow the business and participate in all stages of solution delivery. This role will lead the life/ health specialty team to execute its strategy and achieve its operational goals.
POSITION SCOPE
We will count on you to:
- Build relationships and expand dialogues with clients to discuss current and emerging needs in the health/ medical space.
- Oversee business development initiatives through different distribution channels to achieve business targets. Maintain close relationships with existing clients and develop new prospects.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify new clients and build new leads.
- Lead, manage and grow the overall medical/ health business and team, driving business development strategy and growth initiatives for the business in China.
- Drive revenue generation, growth and other opportunities by actively developing additional business from existing portfolio and other sources in line with budget targets.
- Strengthen and build on long-term relationships with key client decision makers and frequently monitor changes within client organizations to preserve and protect the overall relationship with the client.
- Design, manage and implement business plans and growth initiatives for the medical/ health business in China.
- Establish the medical/ health Centre of Excellence and serve as the subject matter expert in this space. Provide market feedback regarding competitor offerings, prospect needs and generate new business initiatives.
- Provide training for clients and colleagues.
What you need to have:
- A minimum of 10 years’ solid experience in the health/ medical insurance/ reinsurance sector; on-the-ground experience in China.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as insurance, risk management, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in developing and managing sales and driving new business development.
- Customer-focused with strong sales drive. Self-motivated and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Commercially astute and strong business sense.
- Strong client orientation mindset with a proven track record in delivering exceptional service to clients.
- Proven ability to manage and network in a multicultural environment. Strong gravitas and presence to influence and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
- Proficient MS office skills. Able to leverage a range of digital tools and technology to its maximum potential.
