Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the CHRO of IDEAL INDUSTRIES INC, the Senior Human Resources Manager is a key member of the IDEAL Electrical North American management team and drives the organizational development activities that supports the business globally. This role is responsible for the execution of all operational human resources related activities within a plant & office environment, including remote employees. The Senior Human Resources Manager provides full cycle Human Resources support including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, performance management and HR administration. This position must partner with the site leadership team and corporate HR to ensure continual alignment of HR objectives with that of the business and our employees.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Partner - Serve as a key member of the team to assist in driving business results. Develop and drive the people, culture, and organizational development strategies that are aligned with the business strategy.
  • Organizational Development - Partner with senior management to develop effective leadership and management succession planning. Ensure creation of a talent pipeline, succession planning, leadership development and career development for employees.
  • Change Agent - Partner with, and coach, the business leadership team to facilitate organizational and cultural change. Act as a catalyst for building Organizational Effectiveness within the business. Educate the business on HR trends that affect the business.
  • Human Resources Excellence - Work collaboratively to diagnose manager and team member capability needs and design ongoing learning and development plans. Coach and counsel managers on employee performance issues, safety issues and leadership coaching. Navigate managers and employees through talent management processes including the performance management and succession planning processes. Oversee the hiring process including working with the management team to determine staffing needs, conduct interviews, candidate selection and offer recommendations. Works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition team to fulfill and onboard professional staffing. Manage HR team overseeing hourly recruitment and onboarding for IDEAL manufacturing locations.
  • Employee Advocate/Relations – Direct Employee Relations activities to develop management capability to enable a positive workplace culture. Consult with leadership team about implementing management capabilities that result in an open, inclusive, and diverse environment based on the IDEAL values. May conduct internal investigations and provide conflict resolution as necessary. Ensures the role is perceived as an objective employee resource and escalation path for unresolved employee relations issues.
  • Administration & Compliance – Oversee local benefits administration and compensation programs, performance management programs and government compliance, including maintenance of employee records and representing the company in unemployment, workers compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA & OSHA compliance issues.
  • Corporate Initiatives – Work closely with the corporate Human Resources team to support company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related major required; PHR/SPHR designations are preferred.
  • 5 – 10 years of diverse HR leadership experience required. Background in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior supervisory experience
  • Must be a “hands-on” professional with a proven knowledge of employee relations, leadership development, training, organizational development, performance management, compliance issues, communications, salaried and hourly staffing, and compensation/benefit administration.
  • Strong Human Resources Generalist experience required.
