Job Description:

The Communications Manager manages meaningful internal and external communications in line with business objectives for Mars Wrigley China. The role reports to the CA Director – Communications of Mars Wrigley China, with key responsibilities including:

Internal Business Communications -

Develop internal communications strategies and plans of relevant departments/functions that drive continuous change and improvement that align associates with company vision/purpose and business objectives, as well as foster a two-way communications process between relevant department/function leadership team and associates. Advise internal business partners to ensure that all communications fit within the corporate messaging framework.

External Corporate Communications -

Develop and implement corporate communication strategies and plans to reinforce Mars Wrigley’s corporate images and reputation in China. Deliver external communications to ensures that the company’s messages and communications are consistent and timely for target audiences. Forge and maintain relationships with relevant media, KOLs, academia and NGOs. Support Mars Wrigley China senior leaders in external communications. Support issues/crisis communications.

Others -

Manage Corporate Communications global tools, strategic frameworks for both internal and external communications. Develop and create local communication tools and framework needed to accommodate organizational and business needs. Manage and continuously enhance new and existing communications processes and delivery channels.

Skills Needed:

Must have outstanding oral/written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. Transparent and open, a thoughtful communicator, a good organizer with team spirit. Excellent project management skills combined with ability of working under pressure and delivering within tight deadlines. Ability to influence without authority.

Experiences Required:

This role requires a learned professional, specifically with expertise in communications, public relations, and reputation management >5 years of corporate communications experience with track record. Core understanding of the media and how it works -- can effectively develop relationships with media/KOL to accomplish the company’s objectives and manage messages in stories. Has established and proven media relationships. Proven ability to write for top leaders. Sound experience and good judgment in crisis situations. Experience with and ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders and manage complex situations.
