ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

As a Customer Care Representative your primary role is to provide service to policyholders. You will work with customers in taking payments, making policy changes, resolving/answering problems and responding to information requests.

This is an entry level position in our contact center and provides excellent career pathways into our Operations organization that may include additional skill building opportunities. With a detailed road map for learning opportunities and managers who are trained to coach and guide toward career development, you will be equipped with the right tools to build a long-lasting and evolving professional career.

Start Date: May 06, 2024

Training Hours: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM EST Monday - Friday

(8 weeks with no time off)

Post Training Hours: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM EST Monday - Friday

Training is onsite in our Hartford, CT office.

Work Arrangements: The Hartford is proud to offer a hybrid work location model that is designed to support flexibility. Training for this role will be conducted in-office. The option to participate in two-day remote work will be offered after role efficiency is attained, subject to manager discretion and based on business need. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Take ownership to ensure that we go above and beyond to service each caller's needs, utilizing every touch point as an opportunity to build value and The Hartford brand.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service experience to our policyholders in every interaction.
  • Handling inbound telephone calls from customers with questions or servicing needs related to their home and/or auto policy.
  • Promotes digital self service capabilities on all transactions.
  • Utilize multiple computer applications with accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • A demonstrated background in customer service, insurance, retail, restaurant, or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong ability to empathize with customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment while multitasking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a Windows-based computer environment
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English is a plus) to develop and enhance strong impactful customer relationships
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree a plus

Compensation:

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$40,685 - $61,027
