The Director of Corporate Strategy will lead project teams and report to the Global Head of Corporate Strategy, who sits on Cambridge’s Leadership Team and reports to the CEO. The Corporate Strategy team works with the CEO and Leadership Team to set the strategic direction for the firm and execute its strategic initiatives. The team also works with senior leaders to address other critical business projects and problems related to a variety of topics including growth, efficiency, competitive intelligence, organizational structure, and operations, among others. In addition, the team manages the firm’s inorganic activities by evaluating M&A, strategic investments, strategic partnerships, and team lift-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Apply structured problem-solving to address top opportunities and challenges for the business
  • Independently drive projects and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Serve as thought partner to senior leaders, frequently in 1:1 settings
  • Mentor and direct work of junior team members
  • Structure quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses, including for potential acquisitions and other ventures
  • Conduct internal and external interviews with stakeholders
  • Identify implications of data and analysis to arrive at recommendations
  • Develop concise communications for senior management
  • Bridge the gap from recommendations to implementation
  • Work collaboratively with team members and partners throughout the firm

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA or advanced business degree from a top-tier program preferred
  • 5+ years of experience at a top management consulting firm (ideally with financial services industry experience) or in a strategy function at a premier financial services firm
  • Minimum of 1 year as an engagement manager or equivalent
  • Experience with M&A transactions and transaction due diligence preferred
  • Strong and diverse experience solving analytical and conceptual problems
  • Strong client management and influencing skills
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
