ERM is seeking motivated candidates for an Equity Partner role to help grow our established business in India. The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client relationships, in order to provide technical leadership and strategic direction to grow the business. Candidates with accreditation and experience as a Site Auditor are encouraged to apply. 

As a senior leader you will be accountable for successfully selling and consulting on site investigation, remediation and risk assessment related projects to help grow our India business locally, while networking with ERM's Global Client Account leaders and Technical Communities to share best practices. This is a Partner opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career to the next level within a global environmental and sustainability organization, and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing ERM's global strategy. 

We are seeking someone who enjoys working closely with clients to help them address challenging contamination issues. ERM has a fantastic client base and very interesting projects that sees our team delivering on large, multi-year site assessment and remediation contracts, in addition to carrying out due diligence, qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, and large decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition projects. Our go-to-market model enables our Partners to build longer-term, deep relationship with clients and he/she will have the opportunity to work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions to our clients. Our consultants firmly believe in service excellence and this person will be working with a high performing team who are client focused throughout the project lifecycle.

ROLE PROFILE

Personal Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build own professional knowledge and awareness by reading technical literature, attending relevant courses/seminars, participating as an active member in global practice group etc.
  • Draw on the full capabilities of each business support function (Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Marketing) and take appropriate steps across functions, teams and borders in order to achieve business goals
  • Champion new ideas and initiatives. Work to improve processes, incorporating lessons learned and best practices from within and outside of the organization.
  • Act as a role model to staff for ERM values and culture; exhibit Partner behaviors.
  • Use cross cultural awareness to inform effective decision making and interaction across teams and borders.

People Leadership and Development Responsibilities

  • Engage, inspire and motivate peers and staff to achieve ERM’s goals.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to effectively attract and hire key talent. Drive the recruitment and selection process for key appointments in the team.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring (technically, client and project management related and professionally) to staff to support and guide their career development.
  • Demonstrate leadership of individual staff through effective integration, communication, performance management, development planning, succession planning, reward and recognition and leading by example.
  • Manage staff across the broad spectrum of performance situations (addressing underperformance and improving or performance managing those individuals; re-engaging de-motivated individuals; supporting high potentials; retaining key talent).
  • Provide team management and leadership by articulating shared goals, providing regular updates of information, implementing team co-ordination, optimizing use of resources and ensuring team spirit and sense of belonging.
  • Coach and mentor others outside of team.
  • Coach and mentor PTs and high potential consultants.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of training on topics such as project management, client skills, proposal preparation, technical skills development etc.

Client Relationships and Business Opportunities Responsibilities

  • Generate sales from new and existing clients to meet personal and/or team sales targets
  • Use ERM business development processes and tools to become more efficient and effective at business development activities.
  • Assist in securing work from existing or new clients, which is outside personal technical expertise or geography.
  • Secure follow on work from existing clients aligned with ERM’s growth strategy.
  • Secure new clients and/or develop a group of clients who rely exclusively on ERM.
  • Actively participate in Key Client Program
  • Role model Service Excellence by incorporating principles into all project work and deliver the expected outcome and desired experience to the client.
  • Act as key author and reviewer of medium to large proposals.
  • Lead Business Unit KC team.
  • Contribute to Business Unit marketing and sales campaigns/initiatives.
  • Identify BD/Client oriented talent and provide coaching and mentoring to develop their client skills.
  • Identify emerging client needs for new services and support development of these, working with ERM technical experts to create new solutions.

Business Results and Performance Culture Responsibilities

  • Achieve safety excellence on all projects by role modeling ‘safety first’ behavior and through consistent adherence to policy and safety management.
  • Meet all personal and team performance targets (set individually), e.g. sales, billability, DSO.
  • Consistently adhere to the PIC-PM model for proposals and project delivery.
  • Coach Project Managers in use of PIC-PM model.
  • Successful delivery of all projects that have PIC responsibility for (across all aspects of the project cycle).
  • Proactively identify potential risks and take actions to avoid, minimize or mitigate project, contractual, reputational and employment risks.
  • Teach, mentor and coach others to recognize risks and identify appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Participate in the development and/or successful implementation of a business plan and or practice strategy to profitably grow a particular aspect of ERM’s business.
  • Responsible for the success (i.e. Profit & Loss, sustainability) of a large team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • More than 15 years’ experience in the area of sustainability strategy including climate change, disclosure and reporting.
  • Have lead team of people in delivering the above services.
  • Engaged with the client in developing and delivering services like Sustainability reporting, CDP/ DJSI disclosure and developing strategy around Sustainability.
  • Masters in Environment Science/ Engineering or similar qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience managing and/ or providing consultancy in the field of Corporate Sustainability Advisory and Climate Change
  • Proven ability to develop business with leading companies with a strong commercial skills
  • Experience in completing winning proposals and bids
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and extensive team management experience.
  • Ability to provide excellent project delivery and client service, quality on project deliverables, excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Willing to undertake travel at times throughout India, the AP region and Globally when required.
