Position Purpose: 

Our preschool is in need of substitue teachers for the 2023-24 school year. Substitue teachers will receive daily plans for any substitute teaching experience and be paired with another full-time faculty member. Our approach to early childhood is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and Nature-Based practices. Substitute teachers should be prepared (with boots, snowpants, rain jacket, etc) to be outside in all types of weather. As a substitute teacher your responsibilities could include supporting play engagement, reading books, facilitating lunch conversation, helping with transitions, and cleaning up the classroom (tidying materials, sweeping after lunch, sanitizing tables before snack and lunch, etc). This is an on-call position and is compensated at an hourly rate. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred 
• Experience in a relevant field 
• Ability to effectively communicate 
• Must clear background checks per state licensing requirements. 
• Pediatric First Aid & CPR Required 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: 

• Bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling, sitting, standing, standing with movement, walking, climbing stairs and ladders 
• Stretches of time outdoors in all weather, including extreme temperatures and arid conditions 
• Time spent hiking in front- and back-country settings 

Responsibilities: 

Curriculum Instruction & Support

• Execute lesson plans and guide student engagement 
• Maintain a dynamic, engaging, and organized classroom environment 
• Support classroom routines 
• Complete duties: lunch, rest time, story, and cleaning 
• Open to direction & feedback 
• Complete all training requirements as required by state (training and time spent on training is paid for)
