Position Associate Dean for Graduate Studies Administrator, Level III (Full-Time, 12-Month)
Effective Date On or about August 17, 2016 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of the broad spectrum of academic and professional programs in the college.
A Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in an academic program of the College
Tenure and existing appointment at the rank of full professor
A record of successful university teaching, scholarly and creative activity, and service.
Significant administrative experience (e.g., department chair, program coordinator), with knowledge of implementation and evaluation of university policies and procedures
Demonstrated leadership in achieving organizational goals.
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of best practices in Education graduate program policies and procedures
Experience with recruitment strategies to ensure a diverse faculty and student population
Experience in research and grant proposal development
A record of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration
Demonstrated commitment to shared governance
A distinguished professional record in an Education discipline
Duties
The Associate Dean, under the supervision of the Dean, assumes general operations responsibilities in the following areas: graduate programs, faculty searches, college recruitment efforts, scholarships, research and grant proposal development, and other duties as assigned. The Associate Dean represents the College in the Dean's absence.

Conflict of Interest
The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis, complete ethics training within six months of appointment, and take this training every other year thereafter.

General Information
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
