Position Summary:

This position is responsible new program identification and development, course planning, scheduling, coordination, and implementation. In addition the Director is responsible for the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of program coordinators and faculty who are employed to deliver instruction and training in non-credit industrial programs. The Director presides over meetings, provides leadership, builds and maintains good rapport with faculty, students, co-workers, and the community.

Assist the Executive Director and Dean in the planning, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of non-credit business and technology related programs included, but not limited to: CNC Machining, Industrial Design, Pipefitting, Safety, Small Engine Repair, and Welding

Represent the College in a positive manner by establishing working partnerships with local businesses, local school districts, local municipalities, and trainers of ancillary personnel to assess training priorities and long-range training needs

Direct programs so they meet national accreditation and state approved standards

Recommend new programs or changes in existing programs based on analysis of local, state, and national trends

Assist the Executive Director and Dean of CEWD in the preparation and management of the budget

Recruit and retain faculty as well as program coordinators who meet the required educational and experiential criteria for teaching in programs assigned to the Director

Assist faculty and program coordinators in identifying and meeting professional goals

Develops program schedule and assigns faculty as needed

Assigns program coordinators as needed

Evaluate program coordinators on a yearly basis and insure that program faculty are periodically evaluated by the program coordinators

Analyze and report outcome of objectives of training programs to ACC

Assist in the development and implementation of grants that support activity with the programs assigned

Provide program instruction when appropriate

Maintain availability to students, faculty, and staff

Assist in the resolution of student issues related to non-credit business and technology programs

Provide periodic updates to the Executive Director, Continuing Education Workforce Development on status of major projects

Other tasks and duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution Five (5) years of work experience in a business or technology related Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, from entry level employees to senior level management Must have a working knowledge of industrial related occupations and the educational training needed for these occupations An awareness of and the ability to research trends, accreditation standards, and external industry certification requirements in occupations related to business and technology programs Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the community, staff, and faculty Must have the ability to supervise and evaluate faculty in diverse programs Must have the ability to establish and maintain detailed records and reports relating to program instruction Must have the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of programs by conducting program reviews Must be able to manage a variety of disparate projects simultaneously The Director will frequently perform autonomously and must be self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) or more years of teaching experience at a higher education institution

Two (2) or more years administrative experience in a higher education institution
