Job Description

We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Environmental Planner / Scientist to join our 'Impact Assessment and Permitting’ team in Sydney.

This position will provide experience and a greater level of responsibility working on a diverse array of high profile, major infrastructure assessment projects across a range of sectors, including energy, transport (road/rail/ports/air), water utilities and Defence sectors.

Environment, Social and Governance is embedded in everything we do, and our Environment team regularly works closely with designers and engineers to drive real change at the genesis of a project.

You will be working in a genuinely flexible environment, amongst a team of peers and alongside our clients, while learning from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders on projects and in formal training sessions.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage timely and high-quality environmental impact assessments.
  • Constraints analyses, strategic assessments, and environmental management plans.
  • Assist in the organisation of resources, budgets, and timelines for the management of projects.
  • Leading a range of projects within the Energy, Transport, Water industries.
  • Helping junior Scientists & Planners learn and grow, including Graduates and Undergraduates.

Qualifications

In your role of ‘Senior Environmental Planner / Scientist’ you will be confident in translating technical information into accessible language in your written work and other communications.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science
  • Strong environmental impact assessment experience across numerous market sectors and a good industry reputation.
  • Solid project management/coordination skills, commercial acumen and emotional intelligence to develop and maintain positive peer and client relationships and effectively manage resources, timelines, quality and budgets.
  • Be a strong team player, influencer, and, most importantly, a real collaborator.
  • Be a good communicator with proven technical knowledge and a strong client focus.
