The Role 

We’re looking for an Information Security Analyst to join our growing Information Security team in our mission to secure one of the fastest growing Cannabis companies in the US. As an Information Security Analyst, you’ve had some experience in information security and are looking to grow your career further. You’ll participate in supporting the daily functions that further our team mission, including but not limited to performing incident response, collaborating with colleagues, supporting vulnerability management, and supporting your colleagues in incident response, projects, and developing documentation. This role will be reporting to the Information Security Operations Manager. 

Responsibilities 

  • Supports the day-to-day operations of security tools and vendors responsible for providing perimeter, application, network, and cloud security. This includes Firewalls, Proxies, Antivirus, SIEM, Email Gateway, Vulnerability Management, IDS/IPS and Threat Intelligence. 
  • Review security logs and dashboards to identify trends, attacks, and vulnerabilities in supported systems. 
  • Writing custom queries and alert profiles across various security tools and applications in conjunction with Security Engineers. 
  • Responding to customers with details surrounding policies and procedures and helping them understand their role in security. 
  • Supports the implementation of changes to systems and procedures to enhance security. 
  • Contribute to identifying weaknesses in security controls and reporting them to the Security Engineers. 
  • Follow our Incident Response Plan and Playbooks when responding to identified alerts. 
  • Document all steps in an investigation from start to finish to provide necessary information for all participating parties and present those results to internal and external teams. 
  • Assist in the monitoring, investigation, and remediation of security alerts and incident response. 
  • Working with other team members to conduct investigations, perform project work, or develop documentation. 
  • Supporting the growth of your colleagues through knowledge sharing. 
  • Maintain playbooks and standard operating procedures for security tools and processes. 
  • Maintain a current understanding of the cybersecurity threat landscape. 
  • Gather feedback from end users to identify potential points of improvement. 
  • Execute tasks as a member of the Information Security team as assigned by management. 

Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience working in Information Security operations or Information Technology. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Security or Information Technology can help you stand out, but not required. 
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA CASP+, CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Pentest+, or ISC(2) CCSP can help you stand out, but not required. 
  • Experience in mentoring or training colleagues on Information Security skills or security awareness. 
  • Strong understanding of Information Security technologies. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of network, endpoint, application, and cloud security. 
  • Basic knowledge of NIST, MITRE, OWASP, and other security frameworks. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with well-organized and structured work habits. 
  • Ability to keep calm in high-stress or emergency situations. 
  • Ability to think abstractly and critically to consider potential concerns and determine their validity. 
  • An insatiable intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly in a complex space. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks 
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
