Let's talk about the role

The North Face is strengthening the European Design Team and has an opening for a Junior Designer. Working with the current creative team, you will play a central role in creating newness and evolving existing ranges. You need to be passionate about design, commercially smart and thrive in a team environment.

How you will make a difference

  • Work on seasonal concepts & collections for the Performance/Technical Outdoor categories. In collaboration with the other dedicated Designers, Design Manager and Senior Design Director
  • Research market trends and styles, ensuring comprehensive product and competitor knowledge
  • Use Illustrator to create designs, tech packs, colour ups and style overviews
  • Create technical design/CAD sketches, including adding in all details, text information, colors etc.
  • Create technical graphic artwork documents, including adding in all details, text information, colors etc.
  • Support Designers in the execution of seasonal inspiration/product stories & moodboard creation. 
  • Support research of design ideas, fabrics, finish, fit, trims and seasonal color story for relevant product category. 
  • Assist creation of design boards as well as power point presentations. 
  • Support overall organization of the design department & work closely with the Designers to create smooth ways of working within calendar deadlines. 

Skills for Success

  • Experience: need to have experience in similar role 1-3 years
  • BA in Fashion Design
  • Must be a team player
  • Be creative and proactive
  • Team working skills, work together with the other designer and design team
  • Understanding of the design process
  • Understanding of the technical side of product
  • Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Skills – Adobe creative suite, photoshop and Illustrator are a must
  • A creative, open minded individual
  • Someone who can adapt quickly and easily; and is reliable, takes initiative
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken
