Job Summary

The Senior Content Acquisition Specialist will play a pivotal role within the Content department at Disney+ Korea, focusing on Korean content for both the domestic market and the global Disney+ audience. Fluency in Korean is crucial, as the role involves close collaboration with the Korean media landscape. Proficiency in English is also required to effectively communicate with other Disney teams and offices worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

Acquisition Support:

  • Organize and evaluate materials, including pitches and scripts, for potential acquisition and Originals.
  • Provide essential support to Acquisition Managers in closing deals and executing agreements.
  • Collaborate with Content Curation, Content Operations, Media Operations Legal, and Finance teams throughout the acquisitions process.

Onboarding:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for Distributors, collaborating with Disney+/Disney+Hotstar Content Curation, Content Operations, Media Operations, and Marketing teams.
  • Ensure seamless delivery of all required assets for the services.

Cross-Departmental Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison between various departments (Content Curation, Content Operations, Marketing, PR, Legal, Finance) to coordinate information sharing and address incoming requests.

Tracking and Reporting:

  • Monitor title schedules and key dates for delivery and payments.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Content Partner Interface:

  • Interface with content partners, representing the Acquisitions team in meetings and fostering strong partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications or business management
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience within the media industry, with preference given to those with prior experience in streaming services.
  • Experience in content sales/acquisition agreements is highly desirable.
  • Intermediate proficiency in databases and managing a high volume of data.
  • Strong skills in using tools such as Excel, Airtable, and other collaborative platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional proficiency in written and verbal communication in both English and Korean.
