The Job
You will report to the VP, Group Sustainability, and support CapitaLand’s Sustainability Master Plan and targets. This role is to establish and strengthen sustainable practices in the built environment to foster collaboration internally and externally among the areas of design, operations, engineering, innovation, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Provide inputs for Sustainability Master Plan as a member of the Sustainability Technical Team.
- Work with business units to explore and implement solutions to meet the Sustainability Master Plan targets. Provide guidelines and support to operations teams and coordinate quarterly workplan update meetings for each business unit.
- Conduct Environment Health Safety Impact Assessments (EHSIA) for new investments. Coordinate with and assist stakeholders including investment managers, asset managers, development managers, project managers and external consultants to clarify and verify the assessment.
- Oversee pilot projects selected by the annual CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) and other corporate innovation programs. Support implementation within the CapitaLand portfolio by working closely with all stakeholders during the pre-planning, execution, and monitoring while providing contract administration support as necessary.
- Evaluate sustainability innovations introduced to Group Sustainability. Coordinate with relevant business units to explore the feasibility of piloting. Monitor the status and produce quarterly update reports.
- Be the Sustainability Champion of Group Sustainability to lead and encourage implementation of innovative solutions across CapitaLand Group.

Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related fields; advanced degrees preferred.
- 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in Real Estate sustainability or similar fields.
- Possess a solid understanding of sustainable operations, theory, and its application in a Real Estate environment.
- Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work both independently and in a team across departments and different regions globally.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including outstanding attention to detail, adaptability to rapidly changing priorities, and effective ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks and manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high quality work.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with demonstrated flexibility in approach and proactive can-do attitude.
- Experience with MEP projects, property/facilities management and innovation pilot projects will be viewed favorably.
- Experience in working with start-ups will be viewed favorably.
- Experience in Green Mark, LEED, EDGE, and/or other green building label certifications will be viewed favorably.
