ABOUT US

Benetech is a technology nonprofit that develops software for social good. We are the developer of Bookshare, the world’s largest digital library with over 1 million accessible books available in 94 countries and over 60 languages. Bookshare has been supported by several 5-year awards from the Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs, and is currently available to any student with a qualifying disability in the United States for free. We seamlessly ingest and convert more than 9,000 books per month from 900+ publishers into the Bookshare collection.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a college student to help us identify potential contacts that would be interested in our mission and our services, create outreach messages and campaigns, and track and qualify the responses. 

Business Development Intern Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 10-15 hours per week for 6-8 weeks with the potential to continue after initial engagement
  2. Pay $15-20 per hour
  3. Remote
  4. Weekly meeting with managing team member

Business Development Intern Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Must have your own computer with access to the Internet for research and Zoom meetings
  2. Familiar with MS Excel, Word, Google Drive/Docs, Box
  3. Positive attitude and ability to meet deadlines
  4. Ability to think creatively and write clearly and persuasively
  5. Must be comfortable doing phone outreach to help us set up future meetings
  6. Interest and/or experience working with nonprofits, in education or with groups that support people with disabilities
