Decanters Engineering & Supply delivers projects based on decanter separation technology to customers in a wide range of industries including wastewater, food, oil & gas, and mining. We are busy and are therefore looking for a new colleague to join our Automation Group in Copenhagen. We deliver standard and customer specific decanter control solutions. The decanter E&S automation group currently consists of 6 engineers working with Hardware and Software in all project phases from Quotations to Commissioning.

The job

As Electrical/Automation Engineer you will be responsible for electrical-automation system design, documentation for standard solutions and for customer specific solutions. The job responsibilities include bid/quotation support, engineering and design, specifications for procurement, test of engineered solutions, documentation, and technical support during commissioning. Key tasks:

  • Handling of the electrical part of several mid and large size projects at the same time in accordance with time schedule and budget established by the main PM.
  • Carry out electrical engineering which include specification of complete systems, control-, starter - and HMI-panels, create wiring diagrams in CAD software, cabling, necessary technical documentation, O&M manuals, and FAT of the ordered items.
  • Specification of RFQ for control panels based on input from Process and Automation engineer.
  • Specify all parts of an electrical system for components, systems, and plants.
  • Participate in proposal and sales work.
  • Ensure cost optimisation on projects by optimising design, procurement etc.
  • Support start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting either remote or on site.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Electrical engineers. Check the quality of their work and help them resolve problems and issues.

At Alfa Laval, we offer a hybrid work model with the opportunity to work from home when it fits with your tasks. The position is based in Søborg. Travel is expected to be approximately 40 days a year.

What you know

Regarding education, we expect you to have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, be a marine engineer or an AP graduate in electrical service engineering (El-installatør) We are looking for a candidate with practical experience from food & water, mining and/ or oil & gas projects. You are confident in troubleshooting electrical installations and systems. The work requires that you communicate fluently in written and spoken English. Ideally, you have intimate knowledge of international codes and standards such as EN, IEC, ISO, ATEX. In addition, the ability to conduct customer meetings and negotiations in an international environment and knowledge of decanter technology are an advantage.
