AIG is currently looking for a Nordic Head of Property Underwriting to join our Nordic cluster and be responsible for our Property Underwriting team. The position will be based at any of our offices in the Nordics with a preferred location in Stockholm. The Nordic Head of Property Underwriting will report to the EMEA regional EMEA Head of Property and Nordic General Manager.

Selection of Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to execute the Nordic underwriting strategy for Property and manages all Underwriting within Nordic cluster.
  • Within cluster, establishes, implements, and evaluates the production and profitability goals.
  • Direct accountability for the business results of the Nordic property business with respect to profitability, penetration and/or volume within a specific account, segment, geographic area, product, or line of business.
  • In partnership with the Distribution and Regional UW team, drive and execute the long-term business strategy for zone which including all accounts for product accounts.
  • Serve as a technical expert, exercising technical authority with regards to major or multiple insurance product line(s) within Property.
  • Partnering with the regional manager and General Manager Nordic, manage annual budget process for the Nordic Property portfolio including forecasts.
  • Implement tools and strategies to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams.
  • Identify areas/positions within region(s) that lack sufficient bench strength, and employees who require additional skills to fill those needs; develop and execute development/training/recruiting platforms/plans to address the deficiencies.

You have:

  • Extensive experience in Property Underwriting and leadership.
  • Several years of experience from the Nordic insurance market.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition, and distribution.
  • Experience with budgeting and expense control.

You are:

  • Fluent in one of the Nordic languages and English (spoken and written)
  • Analytical with great interpersonal skills.
  • Interested in working in an international environment.
