Join us! GoFundMe is seeking our next Senior Product Manager, Identity & Access Management. This role is tailor-made for someone who is not only passionate about our mission of empowering people to help others but also brings a deep technical understanding and enthusiasm for enhancing platform security and reliability. As a key member of our Identity & Authentication team, you will leverage your technical expertise in back-end systems, digital security, and identity management to fortify our platform against evolving security threats.

The Job

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Define and implement a technically driven strategic vision for digital identity and access management in a complex system architecture. Analyze and understand the nuances of our platform to identify and address areas for security and user management enhancements.
  • Manage Identity & Access Systems: Oversee the development and maintenance of systems that manage digital identities and control access to resources within the platform. This includes the implementation and refinement of authentication and authorization processes.
  • Advanced Technology Integration: Lead efforts to integrate GoFundMe with best-in-class commercial solutions for identity and access management.
  • Technical Collaboration: Engage in technical discussions and collaborations with engineers, data scientists, and other product managers. Play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical compatibility and integration of identity and access management features with other platform services.
  • User-Centric Approach: Adopt a user-centric approach in designing and refining IAM features, ensuring ease of use while maintaining high-security standards.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Apply data analytics to provide technical insights that inform decision-making processes, assess the impact of changes on user behavior, and enhance platform security.
  • Vendor & Tool Assessment: Conduct in-depth technical assessments of third-party tools or vendors for identity and access management solutions, ensuring their technical capabilities align with GoFundMe’s strategic needs and security standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate plans, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, including non-technical team members, to ensure broad understanding and alignment.

  • Demonstrated experience in product management with a strong emphasis on technical aspects of digital identity, authentication, and authorization.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering systems, particularly in areas related to security and user management. Ability to navigate and improve complex system architectures, including legacy systems. Familiarity with modern authentication technologies and approaches, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Passkeys and Passwordless Authentication, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and others
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Past experience as a software engineer, particularly working on infrastructure or security systems, is a significant plus.
  • Experience with cybersecurity incident response, Account Takeover (ATO) investigations and prevention, and cybersecurity threat vectors is a significant plus.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $130,000-$175,000 + equity + benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
