This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
The Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of cooking equipment. Tasks include, but are not limited to; assemble and dismantle all equipment, monitor and ensure product quality making adjustments when necessary to maintain product specifications, and perform the necessary wash down procedures when needed. Must be able to inspect the equipment prior to set up for cleanliness and possible mechanical deficiencies. Must be able to troubleshoot machinery and keep supervisor and maintenance informed of any machinery which needs to be repaired. Must be able to complete all QA checks and documentation accurately to include completion of paperwork. Must be able to read and interpret work instructions and to adhere to all GMP standards and safety guidelines. Must maintain and submit proper paperwork including downtime sheets, weight sheets, raw material usage sheets, product loss forms, and updated specification sheets and HACCP documentation. Some paperwork will require basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Must learn and follow all safety procedures related to the set up and operation of the equipment, including the lock-out/ tag-out procedure. Assure that batch, resource, and product change overs are segregated and marked. Team Member has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies that could compromise food safety. Must be willing and able to lift up to 80lbs when required. Must be willing and able to work in environment with extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F.
Requirements:
Must have held a position for six (6) months within the past twelve (12) months with same employer. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
