As a Technical Writer, you will create technical publications for software products using a structured-authoring, DITA-based, Component Content Management System. Content is delivered in multiple outputs to a variety of audiences with a heavy emphasis on delivering online help.

GlobalLink Technical Documentation supports a variety of software development teams by creating technical content for products that integrate with e-commerce, CMS, marketing automation, PIM, and database platforms to easily and effectively manage a variety of multilingual content and resources.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and scope product documentation requirements.
- Organize material to create outlines and drafts.
- Gather information from product tracking tools.
- Work with product managers to understand what the user needs to know about the product.
- Provide time estimates. Give status updates. Meet deadlines.
- Write, edit, and update topics using XML and XHTML for multiple outputs.
- Create, capture, and edit images according to team guidelines.
- Follow style guides and organizational standards.
- Manage review workflows using an online review platform.
- Provide peer reviews for documents, online help, and videos.
- Assist with checking, publishing, and posting content.
- Contribute to team knowledge and resources.
- Work collaboratively in a small team environment.
- Document team processes on the Intranet.
- Proactively communicate challenges, concerns, and suggest process improvements.
- Perform special projects and duties as required.
- Oversee localization projects tor technical documentation.
- Write video scripts and create videos.
- Learn about software products
About You
As a Technical Writer you are a:
- Creative thinker – You are curious and unafraid to ask questions
- Hard worker – You are industrious and diligent in everything you do
- Innovator – You are willing to initiate changes and introduce new ideas
Your experience includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or Communications or relevant work experience
- 3+ years of technical writing experience.
- Proven ability to plan and implement projects from start to finish.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts with the ability to find information sources.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Experience with DITA and generating online help in a CCMS is highly preferred.
- Localization industry experience a plus.
